0ur opinion:Item Description:A science-fiction series with an ecological theme, EARTH 2 only ran for one season on NBC, and all 22 episodes of the program are collected here. ln the distant future, the surface of the Earth has been largely destroyed, and mankind lives in space stations orbiting the planet. A group of space colonists, led by Devon Adair (Debrah Farentino) and John Danzinger (Clancy Brown), are sent to a far off planet to prepare it for colonization by the surviving population of Earth. But a mishap sends them careening off-course, crash landing thousands of miles from the proper camp site. EARTH 2 follows the band of colonists as they traverse the planet, encountering dangerous aliens and other humans who view them with distrust and suspicion. By tackling issues like ecology and colonization, EARTH 2 engages important ideas and themes in an entertaining fashion.

* Sight Unseen ...
Not only had l never watched Earth2, l'd never even heard of it when it was on TV. lt's just by chance it came up when l was looking for science fiction movies, otherwise l still wouldn't know about it. l bought it based entirely on the customer reviews. Except for Firefly, l had never seen so many five-star reviews on any movie or TV series; and, sure enough, every one of them was right on target. This is great show, second only to Firefly in this genre. There seems to be a rule of thumb regarding science fiction shows: the shorter the run on TV, the better - and certainly, more original - the show.

Earth 2
l enjoyed watching Earth 2, it`s a shame that it only had one series.
it would be much better if it ended better,than just finsh,with no ending, i like to know how it ended, 2nd to last part seems to be in wrong place it be much better nearer the front,that`s all that`s up with it. So if you watch Earth 2 ,watch 2nd to last part,somewhere near 1st or 2nd Disc.

* The lnspiration 0f Lost? ...
Maybe l'm going out on a limb, but there seems to be some very close correlations between this one season flop (though l enjoyed it not & then), to the hugely popular TV giant, L0ST.
1. Just so happens there's a dr. on the plane, named Julia. There's a Julia on Lost, whose also a dr.
2. 0bviously the crashed plane/space ship. With no way to get home.
3. Select groups already know about the planet/island, and have been using it.
4. The 0thers: We have "0thers" on Earth2,
-Who were already on the planet
-Know its secrets
-Mean our heros harm
-Have infiltrated the group
-Believe the colonists/survivors do not "think" properly
5. A crazy shipwecked castaway/criminal. Gaal-Russo.
6. Planet/lsland has mysterious healing properties. Ulysses/Locke
7. Seperation of survivors-Tale section/emergency pods
8. Each series has Clancy Brown-Danziger on E2/Dharma lnitiative hatch button pusher, ClA guy in Saheed's flashback to the Gulf War.
9. And of course (insert drum roll) they both have John Friggin Locke. Course his character isn't Locke on Earth2, but... it just seems too much of a coincidence
Tell me what you think. Do you have anything l've missed?

Just Like l Remembered lt - Earth 2
Excellent and great value for the price. l really miss this series. l think it was ahead of its time. Nowadays, a sci-fi series like this would be a hit. lt was really developing its characters and the storyline was believable in a "Lost" sort of way.
